Sick Centre of Excellence in Sensor Intelligence, established in 2020 at Bannari Amman Institute
of Technology with the cost estimation of Rs.70 Lakhs, is an intelligent sensing lab for all the
parameters considered for automation. It is an updated version of the sensors lab provided by
the industry to develop skills sets of the budding engineers. Centre of Excellence in Sensor
Intelligence comprises of various modern measuring instruments that enrich the knowledge of the
students in the area of Presence Absence detection of metallic and non-metallic objects, Motion
control sensors, 3D Vision camera with Conveyor belt, Dust Measurement Device for Continuous
Emission Measurement and measuring various parameters like temperature, pressure, density,
humidity, displacement, force, speed, torque and stress. The knowledge gained from the Centre of
Excellence in Sensor Intelligence helps students select suitable sensors for specific and
appropriate applications. Also, the training gained by the students in the field of
industrial-based sensor design will be of immense support in any industrial establishment.
